Those Dumb Indian Tourists on the Beach

Many tourists and foreign locals avoid going to the beach on weekends and Christmas just because of the coachloads of Indian men who turn up. They arrive, all excited about the prospect of seeing women in bikinis and stroll down the beach, hand in hand, wearing shirts, trouser, socks and shoes.

If they do try to get into the beach spirit, it’s usually in a pair of brown or grey underpants and their first move is to drink a bottle of Kingfisher beer - a bad idea since most Indians (Goans are the exception) can’t handle their drink. They then throw themselves headfirst into the sea, ankle-deep, and yell and scream while a friend stands on the shore and takes photographs.

Once the excitement of playing in the sea is over, they then go on the hunt for Western women. They walk past staring at breasts with such complete absorption that they fail to realise that anyone can see them doing so. It’s shameless.

If they’re feeling especially brave, drunk or there’s at least 7 of their friends around, they may walk up to one of these girls and ask to take their photo with them. Embarrassed, some women actually agree and are surprised to feel an arm around their shoulders as the camera flashes.

“This was my girlfriend in Goa.”

They then tell their friends back home, who then come to Goa the following season with hopes of similar exotic romances.
